Drost Delivers a Victory at Lake County Speedway

(August 6, 2005–Madison, SD) After losing the lead of the feature at Rapid Speedway the night before with just two laps to go, Jesse Drost would not be stopped at he took his third win of the season at Lake County Speedway.
On the opening lap of the feature, pole sitter Jared Riedel spun in turn four. That sent Kevin Ingle flipping wildly. Inlge walked away unharmed. Chuck McGillivray took the lead over Lane Brenden and Drost on the complete restart. With one lap counted, Drost took second from Brenden in turn two, with Daryl Reverts taking fifth from Brent Vonk.
On the fifth lap of the event it was Cory Krueger spinning in turn four that brought out the caution. On the restart, Butch Hannsen took fifth from Reverts. The lead also went the way of Drost as he made his way around McGillivray. One lap later, Dusty Ballenger took second from McGillivray.
Another red flag came out with just 2 laps to go when McGillivray came to a stop in turn one. Cody Hansen had no where to go and slammed into the stalled car, ending each drivers race.
Drost would not be challenged at he took the win ahead of Ballenger and Hanssen. Brenden took fourth with Reverts fifth.
Jeremiah Jordahl had been leading the Late Model Stock Car feature since lap one, but Lee Schlumbohm took the lead on the eleventh circuit in turn one. One lap later, Jordahl was hard on the gas and running cushion. That built up the momentum as Jordahl reclaimed the lead in turn two. Jordahl led the rest of the way for the win with Schlumbohm second. Gary Brown Jr was third with Ray Sveegen fourth and Don Gerritsen Jr fifth.
Mike McGillivray took the lead of the sportsmen feature from Steve Eliason on lap ten. McGillivray led the closing two laps to take his second win of the season. Kevin Spurgin made a last corner pass to take second with Greg Roemen taking third. Eliason was fourth followed by Nick Bahr.
Chat Patch took the lead of the hobby stock feature when race leader Matt Scholl spun with just one lap counted. That was the only break that Patch needed as he took his second win in a row. Gerg Jung was second with third going to Lane Brenden. Justin LeBahn was fourth witn Travis Morris fifth.
Jeff Foster took his second win of the season in the factory stocks while it was Chris Scholl taking home his fifth win of the year in the deuces wild.
