Runge is Right at Lake County

(June 25, 2005–Madison, SD) After having a rough start to the 2005 season, things finally look right for Mitch Runge as he took the win Saturday at Lake County Speedway in sprint car action.
Runge took the lead of the race on the opening lap, but had to hold off several challenges for the lead. The strongest challenge came from Brent Vonk in the closing laps, but Vonk settled for second. Third went to Chuck McGillivray followed by Butch Hanssen and Cody Hansen.
Gary Brown JR took the lead of the Late Model Stock Car feature from Don Gerritsen JR on lap seven of the 15 lap event and went on for his second straight win. Gerritsen took second followed by Chad Schettler. Jeremiah Jordahl was fourth with Lee Schlumbohm fifth.
Greg Roemen took the win of the Sportsmen feature on Friday night in Rock Rapids, IA and backed that up with the win Saturday at Lake County. Curt Ottoson was second with third going to Kevin Spurgin. Brad Winesberg was fourth with Jamie Tieszen taking fifth.
Lane Brenden took his second straight win in the Hobby Stock feature with Aaron Penning second. Zeb Larson, Tony Guischer and Chad Patch rounded out the top five.
Jeff Foster took his first career win in the factory stock feature. Derrick Nordstrom was second with third going to Derrick Lux. John Billyboy was fourth and Brian Graves fifth.
It was a three wide dash for the win in the Deuces Wild feature and taking the win was Todd Dozark. Chris Scholl was second by about 3 feet followed by Travis Christensen. Fourth went to Glen Higgins followd by Ryan Gulbranson.
Lake County Speedway races again this Saturday night.
