Hanssen takes the Win at Lake County Speedway

(August 2, 2003-Madison, SD) Brad Nelson took the lead of the 360 sprint feature at the drop of the green. One lap had been counted when Kim Muntefering took the lead from Nelson coming off turn two. Chuck McGillivray and Butch Hanssen battled wheel to wheel for third place with Hanssen grabbing the position on lap six coming off the fourth turn. Two laps later Hanssen was in second when he passed Nelson. There were on 2 laps remaining when Hanssen took to the outside of Muntefering in turn two and Hanssen drove into the lead.
Hanssen came from eighth to take his first win at Lake County since 1988. Muntefering was second and third went to McGillivray by inches over Nelson at the line. Joe Riedel was fifth. Riedel and McGillivray won the heat races.
JJ Zebell took the early lead of the Late Model Stock Car feature. Gary Brown moved into second with only two laps counted, but Rick Goth took second on lap three. Mark DeBoer went by Don Bickett on lap four for fourth place. On lap six, Goth and Zebell were side by side for the lead. DeBoer made it a three wide battle for the top spot in turn three. The pack raced off turn four and DeBoer was the new leader. DeBoer led the rest of the way for his fourth Lake County win of the year. Goth was second and third went to Scott Freet. Bickett took fourth and Perry Tschetter was fifth. DeBoer and Bickett won the heat races.
Jason Fedeler led the entire way in the sportsmen feature to take his first ever win at Lake County Speedway. Jamie Tieszen finished second from the eighth starting position. Billy Prouty finished third and fourth went to Kevin Spurgin. Don Gerritsen, Jr. came from twelfth to take fifth. Tieszen, Matt Ayres and Jeremiah Jordahl took the checkereds in heat race action.
Steve Eliason was the man to beat in the Hobby Stock feature as he took his first win of the year. Jeff Beck was second and Nick Bahr came from twelfth to take third. Lane Brenden finished fourth and Johnny Monsees was fifth. Beck, Chad Anderson and Mike McGillivray won the heat races. Jason Schwader took the win of the "B" feature.
Skeeter Hansen took his first win in the Wild Ones feature. Jeremey Fedeler was second and third went to Leslie Arnett. Tara Johnson was fourth and fifth went to Dave Henkel. Heat race wins went to Hansen and Johnson.
Shawn Callies took home his fourth trophy of the season by winning the Deuces Wild feature. Todd Dozark finished second ahead of Kurt Heinemann. Jim Klutman was fourth and fifth went to Myron Prussman. Callies and Heinemann were the winners of the heat races.
Wissota Super Stocks are added to the program for the racing action this Saturday night.
