McGillivray claims 55th career Lake County Win

(July 26, 2003-Madison, SD) Chuck McGillivray took the lead of the sprint car feature on the opening lap from Doug Martens and led the rest of the way to take his fourth win of the year and 55th of his career. Behind McGillivray there was plenty of racing action. Butch Hanssen came from ninth to finish second. Martens and Ryan Bickett battled wheel to wheel in the closing laps of the race for third place. Martens held on and Bickett settled for fouth. Cody Hansen was fifth. The race had one yellow flag. On lap 6, Joe Riedel broke loose in turn two and spun his #11JR. The sprint car heat races were won by Martens and Reidel.
Don Bickett had the restart lead of the Late Model Stock Car feature with five laps remaining. Rob Anderson was second and Gary Brown Jr was third. As the green dropped, Brown made his was by Anderson and then Bickett for the lead. Brown went on for his fourth win of the season at Lake County Speedway. Bickett was second and third went to Anderson. Scott Freet finished fourth from ninth and Darrin Korthals came from eleventh to take fifth. Bickett and Rick Goth win the heat races. Goth was running second in the feature until cutting a tire and spinning on lap six.
Matt Ayres took the early race lead of the Sportsmen feature. On lap two, Kevin Spurgin lost third to Jaime Tieszen. On the fourth lap, Brad James dropped out with mechanical troubles while running in second place. The racing action continued, but all of it was behind the leader as Ayres led the entire distance to grab his second win of the year. Spurgin took second and Josh Schmidt took third. Daryl Reverts was fourth and Tieszen was fifth. Ayres, Reverts and Jeremiah Jordahl won the heat races.
Nick Bahr came from ninth to the lead of the Hobby Stock feature in just two laps. Bahr led the rest of the way for his second win of the year at Lake County Speedway. Andy Hanson was second and third went to Kevin Prussman. Johnny Monsees was fourth and Darren Duffy rounded out the top five. Bahr, Monsees and Justin Olson won the heat races. Lane Brenden took the win of the "B" feature.
Jeremey Fedeler took his second win of the season in Wild Ones action. Davis Christensen was second followed by Brett Lease. Leslie Arnett crossed the line fourth and Dave Henkel was fifth. Greg Jung and Jason Oas won the heat races.
Jim Klutman led the entire distance of the Deuces Wild feature to take his first win at Lake County Speedway. Chad Larson was second and Kurt Heineman was third and fourth place went to Dave Kennedy. Myron Prussman was fifth. Prussman and Todd Dozark won the heat races for the Deuces Wild.
Lake County Speedway races again this Saturday night.
