Madison, SD-Before the first lap of the 360 sprint main event was completed, the red flag waved over the speedway. Pole sitter, Kevin Droll, lost the handle of his Billion Automotive car and spun entering turn one. The incident collected Kevin Ingle, causing him to flip, Justin Saathoff, who's night ended due to a broken front end, and Kory Rawstern, who also had to call it quits due to the damage to his car. Although several cars were damaged, all drivers were uninjured. Once the green flag dropped, Doug Martens claimed the top spot and began to pull away from Randy Droescher. Martens and Droescher used the bottom line of the speedway, but lurking in fourth was Kim Muntefering. Muntefering has his Mark Mathieu Construction car hooked up on the top groove of the speedway and was charging forward. Gary Johnson fell victim to Muntefering on the third lap as he overtook third. On lap nine, Muntefering finally caught and overtook Droescher for the second position. Martens was still leading, and still running on the low side, as the white flag began to wave over the speedway. Muntefering kept using his momentum on the high side and made the pass on the backstretch to take the win. After leading 14 and a half laps, Martens finished second. Droescher, Johnson, and Steve Haman rounded out the top five. "I needed this one, I really did," said Muntefering, driver of the #31m sprinter. "I didn't know if I was still capable of winning." Heat race wins went to Droll and Martens.
Don Bickett and Russ Peterson had their Late Model Stock Car feature end before they could complete a lap. Several cars tangled exiting the second turn, and the incident caused both cars to go to the infield. Jim Petterson and Scott Freet were able to drive away from the mishap and continue. JJ Zebell took the lead when the field restarted, but the yellow would wave with three laps in the books for Petterson, who had cut a tire. The only other caution of the event waved when Freet and Perry Tschetter got together while battling for second. Both cars would right themselves and continue. Zebell held the lap eight restart lead, with Matt Steuerwald, Rob Anderson and the rest of the field on his heels. One lap after the restart, Anderson used the high groove to take second from Steuerwald while exiting turn two, and overtake the lead from Zebell coming off turn four. Anderson never looked back and came to the checkereds to claim his third win of the season. Zebell came to the line second with Curt Bauman, Steuerwald, and Lee Schlumbohm rounding out the top of the order. Bickett and Schlumbohm took heat race wins.
Jeff Wittrock took the lead of the Sportsmen feature when Mike Husman relinquished the position by spinning out. Wittrock would hold on to claim his first win of the year. Jeff Hertel finished second with Chris Ellingson, Rick Goth, and Kevin Konda rounding out the top five. Chuck Harming won the "B" feature. Husman, Goth, and Gary Ganyo won the heat races.
With two laps remaining in the NMRA Hobby Stock feature, Rick Webito suffered a flat tire and gave the lead to Jeff Beck. Beck held on to claim his second win of the season. Following him to the line were Steve Eliason, Mike McGillivray, Danny Lee, and Dale Tomes. Heat race wins went to Johnny Monsees, Wibeto, and Beck. Andy Ullom won the "B" feature.
Team Mulder claimed their third win of the season in Deuces Wild action. The teams of Jensen, Claussen, Larson, and Kludt rounded out the top five. The "B" features were won by the teams of Olson and Boatright. Heat races went to the teams of Mulder, Dafoe, Larson, and Bahr.
