Madison, SD--"Awesome." That's what Ryan Bickett had to say after he claimed his first ever 360 sprint car feature win. Bickett made the most of his pole position start, as the rookie led every lap of the feature to take the checkereds first. Kim Muntefering made several charges to overtake Bickett, and even pulled wheel to wheel with the youngster, but Bickett wouldn't be shaken. "I had tunnel vision, straight forward and hoped nobody passed me," said the former Hobby Stock driver, who added, "It was a blast to finally run with the guys." Muntefering followed Bickett to the finish line. Joe Riedel, Mike Ellingson, and Steve Haman rounded out the top five. Heat race wins went to Ellingson and Muntefering.
JJ Zebell and Don Bickett led the field of Late Model Stock Cars to the green flag of the main event, and it took two laps for the cars to lose their side by side positions, with Bickett claiming the lead. The caution waved with three laps completed as Perry Tschetter stalled on the speedway. The field restarted and continued to run fender to fender. On the tenth lap of the fifteen lap affair, Zebell pulled under Bickett to challenge for the lead, but Curt Bauman, who had been running third, pulled alongside of the two leaders making it a three wide battle for the lead. As the group came off turn two, Bauman pulled into the lead. Bauman continued to lead until he slipped high on the lap 12 restart, and now Zebell held the lead. Zebell continued to lead as the white flag waved, but lost the handle of his #29z and spun out coming off turn two. The incident also collected Bickett and Rob Anderson, and caused all three cars to retire for the evening. Bauman held the green-white-checkered restart lead and held on to put the Skinner's Pub #42B into victory lane for the second week in a row. Matt Steuerwald finished second. Tschetter came back from the lap three caution to finish third. Gary Brown Jr. came from starting position 12 to finish fourth and Moose Schuldt claimed his second straight top five finish. Bickett and Schuldt won the heat races.
Rick Vander Weide came from the fifth row to take home his second Lake County Speedway Sportsmen feature win in a row. The "King of the Meadows" put his PC Doctor #6 into the lead on lap four and held on for the win. Chris Ellingson also started on the fifth row and finished second. Rick Goth started the Goth Electric #90 in eleventh and charged to third. Jeff Hertel and Gary Ganyo rounded out the top five. Heat wins went to Jeff Ellingson, Chuck Harming, and Vander Weide. Mike Husman won the "B" feature.
Defending track champion, Jeff Beck, took the lead of the 12 lap NMRA Hobby Stock feature on lap seven and piloted the Palmquist Farms #72 to his first win of the season. "Use your laps; be patient," was Beck's mentality as he came from the tenth starting position and worked his way forward. Dale Tomes finished second. Adam Thielbar, Mike Kiggins, and Dean Dunkelberger rounded out the top five. Steve Eliason, Justin LeBahn, and Beck claimed heat race victories. Danny Lee won the consolation feature.
After transferring from a "B" feature, Team Bahr claimed their first Deuces Wild victory of the season. The teams of Claussen, Harmon, Larson, and Foster rounded out the top five. Heat races went to the teams of Harmon, Mulder, and Claussen. Team Penning won the other "B."
