New feature winners in each class found themselves in victory lane in the second night of racing action this season Saturday night at Lake County Speedway.

Curt Bauman's machine was clearly the class of the field as he dominated the late model stock car feature. Bauman came from a second row starting spot to pass front row starter and early race leader Dale Furby on the third lap of the fifteen lap event and quickly put a considerable amount of distance between him and the remainder of the field. At the finish of the non-stop event, Bauman stretched his advantage to a whopping half a lap over his nearest competitor. While Bauman was cruising to the win, the battle was on for the runner-up spot and it was Furby holding on to claim that position. Early in the event Furby elected to run the low line on the high-banked 3/8 mile oval but after losing second place on lap seven to Kent Plimpton, the Sioux Falls driver moved to a higher groove on the track. The new line appeared to work better for Furby's machine as he reclaimed second from Plimpton two laps later and wasn't seriously threatened for that spot the rest of the way. Last week's winner Todd Sterzinger came from the fifth row to take third ahead of Plimpton and Brad Wollman.

Kim Muntefering was another driver whose car was definitely hooked up as the Mitchell driver took home the win in the 360 sprint feature.      Muntefering took the lead early in the twelve lap event and was never seriously challenged as he took the checkered ten car lengths ahead of runner-up Mike Ellingson. Third went to Steve Haman ahead of Kevin Ingle and Doug Martens. Rookie driver Kory Rawstern was running in second place when he made contact with the front stretch wall on lap four. Rawstern's machine slid along the wall before eventually launching into the air off of the first turn dirt berm. Fortunately, although the car gained some altitude in the incident, it landed on its wheels and Rawstern was able to walk away uninjured.

The Nordstrom's Sportsmen feature saw Rick Goth lead all the way to take the win. Goth took advantage of his front row starting spot to take the lead at the start of the twelve lap event and quickly opened a large lead over the second place car of Al Barnhart. On lap five, Chris Ellingson passed Barnhart for second, but Goth's large lead was too much for Ellingson to overcome. Although he was able to slowly cut into Goth's advantage, time ran out for Ellingson as the race went non-stop and he came up two car lengths short at the finish. Third went to Ryan Nelson while Russ Peterson and Barnhart rounded out the top five.

Kevin Konda outlasted a number of caution flags to take the win in the hobby stock feature. While Konda rode the pole starting position to take the win, Jeff Beck was busy passing cars as worked his way up from eleventh to take second at the finish. Third went to Dale Tomes ahead of Mike Kiggins and Andy Ullom.

The front-wheel drive feature went to Harmon and Klarenbeck of Canton followed by Tesch and Myers of Clear Lake and Van Engen and Ludwig of Canton.
