In spite of not being a regular competitor at Lake County Speedway for the last several years, Marty Barber showed fans that hes still not done adding to his incredible number of feature victories at the track as he notched feature win number sixty-six after winning the late model stock car feature Saturday night. Barber, filling in once again in the Plimpton #19, shot into the lead from his front row starting spot and led the field the first two laps of the fifteen lap event until caution slowed the action on lap three when Dale Furby and Scott Freet got together on the backstretch, forcing both drivers to the infield for the remainder of the race. The ensuing restart saw Barber pull away from the field and eventually open a sizable lead which he maintained until the final lap when the caution appeared a final time when Rick Eichs right front wheel became a ball of fire. This time Barber had Todd Sterzinger to contend with on the restart and the pair battled side-by-side the final two laps. As they exited the final turn it was Barber getting a better run off the corner and he beat Sterzinger to the checkered by a car length. Third went to Rob Anderson followed by Larry Dixon and Perry Tschetter. Sterzingers second place finish was enough to put him into the point lead by just three markers ahead of Brad Wollman.
Clint Garner outran the field to capture his first Pam Oil/Valvline/AC Delco/Lewis/Pepsi 360 sprint feature of the year. Garner led the entire way during the non-stop event while Lee Goos came from the third row to take second. While there were no restarts during the race, the red flag did fly at the finish when Lee Goos and Chuck McGillivray made contact just past the flagstand. Just as he took the checkered for second, Goos clipped the outside wall and quickly came to a stop leaving McGillivrays third place machine nowhere to go. The collision sent McGillivray flipping into the first turn, and while both drivers were fortunately uninjured, they both were obviously frustrated with the way the race finished for them.
Russ Englund took the lead following a restart on lap three and led the rest of the way to score his first ever win at the track in the Nordstroms Sportsmen feature. Englund drove a fine race as he held off Chris Ellingson, who came all the way from the sixth row, and Matt Ayres to take the win. Fourth went to Rick Goth followed by point leader Matt Steuerwald.
Josh Schmidt snatched the lead from Andy Ullom on the third lap and went on to become the second driver of the night to score his first feature win ever as he captured the hobby stock feature. Second went to Doug Van Liere while Curt Ottoson, Jeff Beck and Dale Tomes rounded out the top five.
The team of Fedeler and Tooker scored their third feature win of the year as they outran the field to win the Deuces Wild front-wheel drive feature. Second went to Paugh and McGillivray with Schmidt and Grayson right behind in third.
