By Heather Riffel

(June 25, 2006-Brandon, SD) The racing weekend ended tonight with four exciting races. Dobmeier took home the trophy in the Outlaw Sprints which gives him his third win of the year. Rosenboom won his first race of the season in the NMRA Sprints. In the Late Model Stock Cars Don Gerritsen Jr. picked up his third win of the season. Justin Arends was able to pick up his first win of the season in the Hobby Stocks.

Chad Meyer was able to get around polesitter John Miller to lead the first lap of the Outlaw Sprint feature. Meyer continued to lead as the field spread out very quickly and began lapping cars. Dobmeier moved up to the second position with in a few laps. The caution came out on lap eight when Joe Riedel spun in the fourth turn. On the restart Dobmeier was able to get around Meyer and lead all the remaining laps. Behind him the battle for third, fourth, and fifth was heated between John Lambertz, Gary DeWall, and Gregg Bakker. As the race winded down the two cars that were coming were Jake Peters and Larry Ball, Jr. Peters started in the 20th position and ended up finishing in the fifth position. Ball came from a starting spot of ninth to finish in third. On the last lap Meyer gave it one last try to take over the top spot but Dobmeier was able to hold on. Meyer finished in second followed by Ball, Bakker, and Peters.

Doug Martens started on the pole and took the early lead in the Sprint feature. The top five were all in heated battles. Butch Hanssen and Eric McGillivray were battling for third while Dusty Wasmund and Terry Chester battled for fifth. Jody Rosenboom was very fast and caught Martens on lap eight but was not able to complete the pass. The red flag came out on lap 10 when Casey Heser flipped his car in turn two. On the restart it only took Rosenboom two laps to get around Martens. The car on the move was Johnn Cressman who started tenth and was in the second position by lap 14. Cressman continued to gain on Rosenboom but ran out of laps. Rosenboom took home the victory while Cressman finished in second followed by Martens in third. Eric McGillivray came in fourth while Hanssen finished in fifth.

The Late Model Stock Car event featured many side by side battles for the top positions all throughout the race. Don Gerritsen Jr. started in the third position and was able to take the lead on lap two. Chad Overgaard battled the entire race with Howard Baartman for the second position. Rick VanderWeide came from the ninth spot to challenge Jeff Kroger for the fourth position. These battle continued lap after lap which gave Gerritsen the race win. Overgaard ended up in second while Baartman placed in third. VanderWeide followed in the fourth position with Kroger rounding out the top five.

Justin Arends started on the outside pole and was able to lead every lap on his way to his first win. The caution came out on lap two when Zeb Larsen hit the turn four wall head on. He was able to walk away from the incident. On lap eight Lane Brenden, substituting for David Beman Jr., Jared Nytroe, and Jeff Deighton were all battling for the fourth position. Brenden did not fair to well as he ended up spinning in turn four. With three laps to go Graves was battling Arends for the top spot while behind them Tommy Barber and Nytroe battled for fourth. When the checkered waved Arends took home the win. He was followed by Graves in second. Shaun Taylor was able to finish in third. Barber secured fourth while Nytroe finished in fifth.
