The traditional Memorial Day race marked the first time NMRA Hobby Stocks and Sportsmen stock cars had the opportunity to race at Huset's this season.   Also included in the holiday program were the NMRA 360 Sprint Cars and the Late Model Stock Cars.

After taking the win two nights previous, Gary Johnson found himself on the pole position for Monday's 360 Sprint feature.  Johnson wasted no time to assert himself as the car to beat by pulling out to a convincing lead over fellow front row starter, Mike Ellingson. Charging hard from the thirteenth starting position was Butch Hanssen, who claimed the win the night before after starting fifteenth.   Hanssen was already running fifth by the time the field had completed only five of the scheduled 18 laps. Johnson, still holding on to a comfortable lead, began to work lap traffic on the eighth revolution.  The slower traffic played into the hands of Hanssen, the veteran driver, as he was able to move into the second position with six laps remaining. Three laps remained, Johnson got caught behind a lap car, slowing his momentum and allowing Hanssen to take the lead, but before the lap was completed, the yellow flag waved for the spun machines of Buck Wilson and Justin Clark.  By rule, the running order goes back to the last completed lap, which gave Johnson the lead. When the green came back out, the three-lap dash began.  Hanssen made several attempts, but wouldn't be able to overtake Johnson.  Following them to the line were, Ellingson, point leader Lee Goos Jr. and Bob Gilliland. "Until the yellow, Butch had me," said Johnson after his second win in three nights.  "The laps after yellow, I never lifted.  If I had to hit the wall, I was going to hit the wall.  I wasn't lifting." Johnson, Goos and Randy Droescher won the heat races.

Dale Furby claimed the early lead in the 15-lap Late Model Stock Car feature, but Gary Brown Jr. was charging hard on the high line of the speedway and had moved from the fifth starting position to second by lap five. Brown and Furby were running side by side when smoke started to come out of Brown's #22.  Brown's night ended as he slowed and pulled into the pits with eight laps remaining. Furby was able to hold off a late challenge by Ray Feltman Jr. to claim his first win of the season.  Feltman settled for second followed by Don Bickett.  Brad Wollman came from sixteenth to finish fourth and Dan Jensen came from twelfth to round out the top five. Furby, Brown and Bickett claimed heat race wins.

Jeff Wittrock came from the pole position to win the caution plagued Sportsmen main event.  Rick Goth, driving Jeremiah Jordahl's car, finished second.  After spinning out early in the race, Rick Vander Weide came back for a third place finish.  Rick Tarbox and Jim Parsons rounded out the top five. Sportsmen heat wins went to Wittrock and Chris Tilberg.

Laura Mulder took the lead of the NMRA Hobby Stock "A" feature when the green flag dropped and was continuing to lead when the yellow flag came out with five laps down for Mike Kiggins.  Kiggins relinquished the fourth position by stopping on the speedway, while Justin Selken gave up the third position by changing a tire during the caution period. The only red flag of the evening came when Joe Fitzpatrick flipped his car in turn one.  Fitzpatrick walked away uninjured, but went home with a badly injured racecar. Mulder fought off all attempts to be passed and claimed the victory.  Anthony Mann finished second.  Clint Potter and Tim Dann followed them to the line.  Selken came back and salvaged a top five position after the tire change. Kiggins, Selken and Don Brady Jr. claimed victories in the heat races.
