After suffering a heartbreaker the night before, Brad Wollman rebounded to score his biggest night of his racing career at the season championships Sunday night at Huset’s Speedway. Wollman, who finished second to Todd Sterzinger by just one point for the championship at Lake County Saturday night, locked up his third Huset’s title with a fourth place feature finish. Wollman took the title by three points over Ray Feltman, who finished second in the feature. Wollman followed up that effort by winning the biggest race of the year for the late model stock cars, the Nordstrom’s Auto Recyclers 30-lap “Dash for Cash”. The race, which features a mandatory pit stop after 20 laps requiring two tire changes and refueling, started 16 cars of which just half were running at the finish. The pit stop worked to Wollman’s advantage as he went from ninth to first thanks to the quick work of his crew. Wollman then led the final 10 laps, pocketing over $3200 for his efforts. Rob Anderson finished second, collecting $1000 and Lee Schlumbohm was third, winning $500. Schlumbohm took the regular feature win ahead of Feltman, who started 18th, and Dale Furby.

Micah Schliemann pulled off a rare double win as he won both the 410 and 360 sprint features. Schliemann led all 20 laps in winning the 410 event. Chad Meyer chased Schliemann most of the way and was challenging for the lead with four laps to go when he clipped the backstretch wall, damaging his car and forcing him out of the race. Terry McCarl, who clinched his fourth track title, was right behind Schliemann on the restart but couldn’t mount a serious challenge for the lead as Schliemann roared on to the win. Kenny Hansen was third followed by Gary DeWall and Chad Radel.

In the 360 feature, Schliemann came from 14th to take the lead from Kory Rawstern with four laps to go for the win. Rawstern finished second ahead of Dusty Ballenger, Butch Hanssen, Troy Vink and Justin Henderson, who won his first 360 point title.
