Terry McCarl rebounded from a disappointing run the previous night to run away with the 25-lap outlaw sprint feature win Sunday night at Huset’s Speedway.    McCarl, who finished 14th at the Gold Cup on Saturday, grabbed the lead from Dennis Moore on lap six and cruised to his ninth feature win at the track this year.    “We were a little embarassed after last night,” said McCarl. “The track was quite a bit different tonight and the crew did a good job on the setup. Hopefully we can come back on Cheaters Day and put on a better performance.”   Peter Murphy looked to be extremely fast as he took the early lead from his pole starting position. But on lap five Murphy looped his car in turn four, triggering the caution. Murphy proved he could have had a car to contend with as he came from the back of the 22-car field to finish fifth. Fast-timer Don Droud was another driver who had a good run. Droud passed Moore for second midway through the race and was slowly gaining on McCarl. But the caution Droud needed to make a run for the lead never materialized and he finished a distant second. Moore, in just his second appearance at the track since crashing opening night, was third followed by Gary DeWall, Murphy, Wade Nygaard and Kenny Hansen.

Justin Henderson took advantage of several cautions to win his third 360 sprint feature of the year.    Following a restart after Terry Reilly and Donovan Peterson tangled with four laps to go, Henderson passed the second place car of early leader Bob Gilliland on the restart and then overtook leader Troy Vink on the next lap and quickly pulled away for the win.    “The yellows really helped,” said Henderson. “We’ve had a bunch of problems lately and I almost forgot what it felt like to finish up front.”    Vink finished second ahead of Gilliland, Jeremy Kasten and John Miller.

Kent Plimpton followed up his first-ever feature win at the track last Sunday with another win in the late model stock car featue. Plimpton led all 18 laps and was pressured most of the way by runner-up Howard Baartman. Brad Wollman and Ray Feltman both came from the sixth row to take third and fourth, respectively. Ray Sveeggen actually crossed the finish line fourth but was disqualified after his car failed a post-race tech inspection.
