Going into his biggest racing week of the year, Terry McCarl gained some momentum by winning the 25-lap outlaw sprint feature Sunday night before a crowd of 6000 at Huset's Speedway.  McCarl, who will be competing on his home track at the Knoxville Nationals beginning Wednesday, came from the eighth starting spot to score his seventh win of the year and pad his newly regained point lead.  Australian Peter Murphy, in his first appearance at the track this year, came from sixth to take the lead on lap 11 from Micah Schliemann, with McCarl close behind.  While McCarl chased Murphy on the high side of the track and through lapped traffic, it appeared he would have a difficult time taking over the point as he had difficulty getting by the Aussie.  But with eight laps to go Murphy made the ill-fated decision to leave the high line that he had been running in favor of a groove closer to the bottom of the track and McCarl quickly took advantage as he shot by Murphy on the outside and sped on to the $2000 win. "Pete was really fast tonight," said McCarl. "I was lucky I got the chance to pass him when I did."  McCarl stretched his margin of victory to nearly 1/4 of a lap at the finish, while Murphy held off a fast-closing Don Droud for second. Schliemann finished fourth ahead of Chad Radel and Travis Whitney, who was filling in for Gary DeWall.

John Miller took the lead on lap five when leader Dusty Ballenger's right rear tire went flat and went on to win his second 360 sprint feature of the year.  Disaster appeared to strike Miller with eight laps to go in the 18-lap event when he momentarily tangled with the lapped car of Eric McGillivray, allowing Jeremy Kasten by for the lead.  But a caution on the same lap when McGillivary stopped on the track allowed Miller to regain the lead on the restart, and the Plankinton driver pulled away from the field, eventually taking the win six car lengths ahead of Kasten. Butch Hanssen was right behind Kasten in third followed by Donovan Peterson and Steve Haman.

Don Bickett led all the way to win the 18-lap late model stock car feature, his first win at the track in two years. Dan Jensen pressured Bickett the final laps to finish a close second ahead of Kent Plimpton, Dave Olivier and Gus Clark.
