Craig Dollansky made his first appearance at a regular Huset’s Speedway show of the year a most successful one as he ran away with the outlaw sprint feature win Sunday night.

Dollansky “cleaned house” as he set fast time, won his heat and then captured the twenty-five lap main event to take home $2200 in prize money. Jake Peters set the pace for the first seven laps before Dollansky worked his way up from the third row to slide under Peters in the fourth turn of lap eight to take the lead which he would hold to the finish. The red light was triggered on lap eleven for a controversial incident when point leader Terry McCarl and Leonard Lee made contact while battling for position, sending both cars flipping in the third turn. Both drivers were uninjured and Lee was able to make repairs and restart the race while a frustrated McCarl was forced to the infield.      On the restart it was Dollansky quickly pulling away and the battle was for second. Next to Dollansky, the fastest car in the field belonged to Chad Radel, who came from the eighth row to take second from Peters late in the race. The red flag halted action once again with three laps to go when Dean Fredericks saw his first appearance at the track end on the back of the hook when he flipped in turn three. The restart put Radel right behind Dollansky, but Dollansky was able to pull away as the race resumed and hold the lead to the finish, although Radel was never far behind. Third went to Peters, followed by Marlon Jones and Gregg Bakker.

The Pam Oil/Valvoline/AC Delco/Lewis Drug/Pepsi 360 sprint feature was a great race that saw Chad Meyer come from the fifth row to take a the lead on the final lap for a well deserved win.  Brad Nelson had his best run ever at the track as he took the lead early in the race and held it until Meyer slipped by him on the high side of turn two on the last lap. Point leader Butch Hanssen also had a great run as he came from the seventh row to follow Meyer by Nelson to take second. Nelson hung on to take third ahead of Lee Goos and Brett Stegenga.

Dale Furby also came from the fifth to snatch the lead from Rob Anderson with three laps to go to take the late model stock car feature. Anderson had his best run ever at the track as he held the lead for most of the race and then battled side-by-side with Furby for several laps before slipping a little too high in the second turn, allowing Furby under him to take the lead and go on to the win. Anderson settled for second while point leader Dan Jensen, who came from the sixth row, Dave Oliver and Larry Dixon rounded out the top five.
